Vransko Lake Nature Park is situated between Šibenik and Zadar, right next to the Adriatic coast. With an area of 30.7 km², Vransko Lake is the largest natural lake in Croatia and one of the most important ornithological areas in Europe.
The lake is home to more than 250 bird species, including rare and endangered species. The ornithological reserve on the northwestern part of the lake is a specially protected area where you can observe herons, cormorants, ducks and many other birds.
Around the lake runs a 50 km cycling trail that offers spectacular views of the lake, sea and surrounding mountains. For active tourists there are also hiking trails, bird observation points and the possibility of rowing on the lake.
Vransko Lake is only about 15 km from Pakoštane, making it an ideal destination for a short trip or active day in nature for guests of Hotel Marin.
